This morning we awoke to Eliana and Micah reminiscing about the "circle jelly" they had at "Thanks Forgiving" last night.

My little patch of the earth is still turned away from the sun. I look out my window and see the black silhouette of the woods behind my house. Only black. But I know that me and my patch are rolling toward the sun and in moments those black trees will rise up in color. This beautiful fall will burst fourth in bright reds, yellows, oranges and gold, complimented by their evergreen friends. Right now, I don't see them as they are. But the sun is coming and it will tell all. The Son is coming and he will tell all. Come. Lord. Jesus!

Today I received a severe rebuke from Samuel for not exercising sufficient caution while walking through the library parking lot. "Do you WANT your children to get sacrificed?!!!!" said he. (I can relate to the mother duck who simply expects her ducklings to dutifully follow her without incident.)

Eliana reluctantly accepted the result of her choice to not eat her dinner: no candy. However, she assumed that this did not include harvesting the wrappers from her brothers' candy out of the trash and licking streaks of chocolate off of them.
Todays goals for the children:
Samuel - To independently complete a worksheet with three reminders or less.
Brennan - To not cry when he has to write his last name.
Ellie - To pull up her pants by herself.
Micah - To quietly sit on the couch like a person and listen to a story. Not backwards, not upside down, not burying his head into the crease of the couch, not breaking out into irrelevant song, not trying to connect the plot line of the story to super heros, not arguing with the details of the story, etc.
